Turning a written poem into a multi-character film

Celebrating their year of culture in 2022, the Knowsley region commissioned a film based around a poem written by local wordsmith Curtis Watt. The result was “Twenty-Two voices”. A short film that highlighted the hidden local heroes of the north-western borough and celebrated it’s heritage and culture.

With everyone from local dinner ladies and school council leaders, to legendary broadcast heavyweights and boxing legends such as John Conteh.

The poem was divided into twenty-two rhyming couplets. With each one being spoken by a local icon or remarkable person. The video spanned all classes, ages and backgrounds.

    THE CONCEPT

    THE SHOOT

    THE SHOOT

KINO begins with the idea. Whether you already have one, or are in need of one. Our team thrive in seeing a project go from conceptualisation to a final render. Maintaining a thoughful and considered process that retains the most important element of any video; the story. We work with you to create storyboards, style sheets and concept boards.
